United to launch first Africa service

United plans to launch a daily flight between Washington Dulles and Accra, Ghana, on May 2. This will be the airline's first service to Africa.

From Accra, the flight will continue to Lagos, Nigeria. United will use a Boeing 767 for the same-plane service.

Also, United on April 18 will start flying to Bahrain. The airline's existing Boeing 777 service from Washington to Kuwait will continue to Bahrain.

Additionally, United will launch daily service between Chicago and Brussels on March 28, using Boeing 767 aircraft. United will continue to operate Washington-Brussels service.

All planned new service is subject to final government approval.
