Egencia sets up shop in Australia

July 28, 2008
Egencia, the travel management company operated by Expedia, will launch service in Australia on Tuesday.

The company said customers will have access to localized hotel and air content, such as major low-cost carriers, as well as the Egencia suite of online booking and travel management tools.

The Australia launch follows service launches in China, Ireland and the Netherlands. In each case, Egencia said, it focuses on “strong local service.”

Egencia added that the existence of an Australian point of sale allows the travel company to better serve companies with global requirements.
